FODMAP diets can be great...but they are not meant to be followed long term. Just a short term solution to buy time to repair the GI tract so you can re-introduce those foods. The gut and microbiome needs plant based fibers and polyphenols for good long term health. Just cutting them out is simply palliation (which is harmful long term). Undergoing a 5 R program (remove, replace, reinoculate, repair and rebalance) can be curative, which is the goal.
